About me

Koen van Barneveld, born on the 20th April 1987, is a young composer from the Utrecht region in the Netherlands. At the age of 6 he came into contact with music through musical education at primary school. When he was 8 Koen had his first piano lesson and his love for music was born.

Koen took 3 years of classical music tuition but figured out more and more that this was not the direction he wanted to pursue. After 3 years he met a new piano teacher and commenced studying Jazz/pop music. It was also round this time that Koen got to know the world of Film and Trailer music.

At the age of 18 Koen commenced a study at the conservatory, direction Jazz and Pop music. He joined a rock band and toured the whole of Europe. He also participated in several small initiatives and regularly performed with his school.

Soon though his interest in performing music started to decline and his interest in the art of composing started to take over. That same year Koen composed his first piece of film music and the following years he continued to develop the art of composing and arranging orchestral music.

Currently Koen is specializing himself in composing trailer music. Distinctive for trailer music is the short but powerful impression it carries. Musical pieces of only a few minutes which have to give the film trailer, in a short time, the character of the movie and at the same time leave a big impression in order to stimulate the viewer to actually go and see the movie. Musical Composition

Custom made music for all your movies, games, presentations, trailers,
commercials and more. I’ll ensure to give every single project the emotional
feeling it deserves. From massive and epic orchestra tracks to small and
emotional piano pieces, everything is possible. The music is written, recorded and mastered in my home-studio so no third parties are required to finish the project. For your project you can use one of the already existing tracks or contact me for some custom made music.

Sound Design

You’ve finished a movie, got some beautiful shots and lovely music but the
smaller sound effects are missing. Whistling leaves in the forest, gentle rippling water or huge explosions and gunfire, I can create it all for you. Custom recorded at location or from sample CD’s. The sounds can be edited in the studio to match the feeling of your project. I can provide you with either one long audio track with all the sound effects in place or separate samples for every single sound. Please listen to some demos in the portfolio section

Voice-Overs

If you need massive, epic or cinematic tracks or just normal voice-overs for your trailer, movie, presentation, or anything else, please contact me through the contact form. I can record voice-overs and edit them if needed. Voice-overs can be recorded in my home-studio with your own voice. If it’s not possible for you to come to the studio you can also send me the quotes you wish to record. I can then provide a proper voice artist. Please check my portfolio for some demos.
